What a EUR/USD pip is worth

EUR/USD is priced in dollars, so its pip value in dollars never changes: 0.0001 × 100,000 = $10 a pip on a standard lot, $1 on a mini lot and $0.10 on a micro lot. Most platforms quote a fifth decimal, a tenth of a pip.

For an account in euros, those $10 are worth $10 ÷ the price in euros: at 1.1000, about €9.09 a pip. Pick your account currency in the calculator and it converts for you.

A worked example

Account $10,000, risk 1% = $100. You buy at 1.1000 with the stop at 1.0975: 25 pips. One standard lot loses 25 × $10 = $250 there, so $100 buys 0.4 lots, risking exactly $100.

Halve the stop to 12.5 pips and the size doubles to 0.8 lots for the same $100. Wider stops simply mean smaller lots.

Spread and slippage

The calculator measures from your entry price to your stop. Your broker's spread is paid on top, and a stop in a fast market can fill a pip or two worse. On tight stops that matters: a 1-pip spread is 10% of a 10-pip stop.

$10 divided by the EUR/USD price, per standard lot. At 1.1000 that is about €9.09 a pip.

No. A pip on EUR/USD is the fourth decimal, 0.0001. The fifth decimal is a tenth of a pip, sometimes called a pipette or point.
