What it means
Also commonly taught: Asian 8-10 pm and London close 10 am-12 pm. Teachers shift them by up to an hour.
In practice
Most of a day's range is made in a few hours, when the largest financial centres open and volume arrives. Killzones name those hours, so a trader can concentrate on them and ignore the slow periods in between.
The windows work as a filter: setups that form inside them are taken, the same setups outside them are skipped. This also gives the trading day a start and an end.
What to watch for
The times are given in New York time and move against other time zones when clocks change in spring and autumn. Being inside a killzone is not a reason to trade; it is only when to look.
